Cardboard can help protect the floor under a desk chair from scratches and damage caused by the chair's wheels. It can also provide a smooth surface for the chair to roll on, making it easier to move around. However, cardboard may not be as durable or long-lasting as other materials specifically designed for this purpose, such as chair mats. **

The weight of the new desk chair can be subjective and dependent on individual preferences and physical capabilities. It is recommended to test the chair by attempting to lift it or move it around to determine if it feels too heavy for your needs. Additionally, consider factors such as the material of the chair and your own strength when evaluating if the chair is too heavy for you. **
